Advanced Organic Gardening Program

 The Advanced Organic Gardening Program is being developed for experienced gardeners who are ready to move beyond the basics and grow food with greater intention, productivity, and ecological impact.

This program is designed for past participants of our Organic Gardening Program and others in our community who already have hands-on gardening experience and want to expand their knowledge through advanced techniques, specialty topics, and regenerative practices.

This program is a good fit if you:

• Have more than one year of gardening experience
   
• Have participated in the Organic Gardening Program in the past
   
• Want to grow more food, more efficiently
   
• Are interested in soil health, resilience, and regenerative methods
   
• May be considering growing food for community sharing or local sales

Advanced topics may include:

• Advanced soil building, fertility, and compost systems
   
• Regenerative gardening practices & ecosystem stewardship
   
• Crop planning for yield, succession planting, and efficiency
   
• Season extension (hoop houses, low tunnels, cold frames)
   
• Pest and disease management beyond the basics
   
• Perennial and specialty crop systems
   
• Seed saving and on-farm resilience
   
• Scaling production for household abundance or community distribution
   

Programming will emphasize hands-on learning, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and practical application.

We encourage participants to grow large gardens and share or even sell any extra produce  This helps make growing food more affordable and creates entrepreneurial opportunity for growers and increases access to homegrown, fresh food for our local communities.
